Crusher Jaw Plates Material Selection

Different crush stone, different work conditions, need to select the right material suit to cast crusher jaw plates. For example, Mn14 jaw plates can crush soft stone, but can not suit to crush hard stone, because it wears out speed too quickly if use Mn14 jaw plates to crush hard stone. H&G Machinery can supply different material crusher jaw plates to suit customers’ inquiries. H&G Machinery jaw plates material include: manganese jaw plates, TIC insert jaw plates, and alloy steel jaw plates.

Manganese Crusher Jaw Plates

Manganese steel’s ability to work harden from impact loading along with its exceptional toughness make it the best wear material choice for many demanding applications. The hardness of manganese steel in the solution annealed and water quenched condition is normally around 220 HB. It is possible to strain to harden this material to approximately 500 HB. In order to achieve this high hardness level, the impact loading must be high while the material wearing away from gouging abrasion is limited. It is typical in crushing applications where the main wear mechanism is gouging abrasion that the manganese steel will harden to some intermediate level, typically 350-450 HB.

Qiming Machinery supplies different grade manganese steel to crush jaw plates, as follows:

  • Mn14
  • Mn14Cr2
  • Mn18
  • Mn18Cr2
  • Mn22
  • Mn22Cr2

TIC inserts Crusher Jaw Plates

H&G Machinery has improved our customer jaw plate by TIC(titanium carbide) insert. H&G Machinery TIC inserts jaw plates are designed to improve efficiency and reduce costs by extending wear life and minimizing downtime. Compare with normal manganese jaw crusher liners, our TIC insert wear parts span life can be 2-3 times. Based on our customer feedback, the more hard material to crush, the long span life.

  • Its working principle: Titanium carbide bars are got the impact at first. Because it has a high hardness (around 65-75 HRC), the bars can work for a long time. At the same time, the manganese body also gets little impact, the body becomes harder(From 200HB to 500HB).
  • Its working conditions: This material very good in crush difficult and abrasive stone.
  • Compare with Mn18Cr2 crusher jaw plates, its span life can 1.5-2.5 times.
  • This material just suits wide tooth or super tooth jaw plates, not suit shape tooth jaw plates.

Alloy Steel Crusher Jaw Plates

These alloy steel jaw plates just use to magnetic separation stone, and the jaw plate weight less than 500 kg. Its elements:

  • C 0.40%
  • Mn 1.9%
  • Si 1.4%
  • S 0.012%
  • P 0.016%
